chicago is consignment mecca, especially for those of us who do not have the luxury of weekly, outdoor flea markets (because it's only warm approx. 14 weekends out of the year). there are tons of consignment shops in my neighborhood, and i've been slowly making the rounds and discovering the best deals. buy popular demand is by far my favorite, but recently i ventured outside of my comfort zone and hit up second time around on armitage:
i know you cannot tell, but they had the cutest, most colorful outfits on the mannequins. my partner in thrifting and i were instantly drawn in.
admittedly, consignment shopping is very hit-or-miss. sometimes you make out like a bandit, and sometimes nothing fits. but when you find that perfect pair of gently-used seven jeans or that james perse dress for $8 (yes, it's true), you know that all your hard work has paid off. that said, roommate was not successful this time, but we're determined to return in a week or so, when the shop will undoubtedly have acquired more gems. i managed to swipe up this great baggy sweater by flounce tbd:
with my new boots, leggings and a pair of big earrings, i've got the perfect outfit for this crisp spring day.
my hard work.
