so everyone knows by now that i have been on a pretty intense apartment search these past couple of weeks. the apartments in new orleans have their fair share of imperfections (disguised as "character" and "uniqueness" on craigslist, of course); i'm willing to accept these issues if they are tempered by a great location, lots of square footage or other amenities like nearness to a parade route. however, the facade of the place i saw today was a bit more than i was willing to tolerate:
